More than 140 speakers, two days of conference sessions and a shared theme. The 25th Berlin Security Conference on 3 and 4 November 2026 took place under the theme “Europe and NATO, strong together against multipolar threats”.
The discussions on stage and the conversations in person showed how closely Europe’s security challenges are connected. No country or company can tackle them alone.
Shared responsibility for European security
In his speech, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy focused on shared security guarantees. He concluded with the words “Europe has no alternative to Germany.”
His words underline Germany’s responsibility for European security. They also relate to a task that requires reliable partners and coordinated action within Europe and NATO.
Cooperation begins with conversation
On the eve of the conference, we opened the pre-event as Vektor Group. Dr Yorck Hesselbarth ended his speech with the Lithuanian proverb “Vienas lauke ne karys.” In English, this means “One person in the field is not a warrior.”
This thought stayed with us throughout the following two days and beyond. Armed forces, public authorities, politicians and industry bring different experiences and responsibilities. Cooperation begins with understanding these perspectives and developing a shared understanding of the tasks ahead.
Conversations with our Baltic partners and the other participants provided an opportunity to do so.

Technology must remain understandable
For ORCRIST, this cooperation includes a clear requirement for technology. It should help people identify relevant connections, put information into context and prepare well-informed decisions.
How it works and the results it produces must remain understandable. Responsibility for decisions rests with people.
European security needs both. Technology that supports day-to-day work, and people who cooperate across institutional boundaries.
We thank Behörden Spiegel for organising the event, our Baltic partners and everyone we spoke to during the two days of the conference.
